Film Language Tag: performance
In film studies, a term used to convey the way in which the movements of individual performers might be understood in relation to the work of other performers (their actions, interactions, and relationships) and as part of a film’s total form. [See acting]. At Kinolab, we use performance to signal when an actor’s movements on screen significantly contribute to the realization of the film’s overall style. In other words, the character they bring to life on screen is a believable part of the world that has been built on screen.
