Before the trio (Humphrey Bogart, Tim Holt, & Walter Huston) can kill the newcomer, James Cody (Bruce Bennett), bandits arrive. Initially claiming to be "federales," when asked about their badges, the leader, 'Gold Hat' (Alfonso Bedoya), replies "Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges! I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!"
