Ikiru : Closing Sequence

A police officer who found Watanabe's (Takashi Shimura)signature hat comes to return the hat to Mitsuo (Nobuo Kaneko) and pay his respects. Everyone vows to live like Watanabe did in his last moments, but they soon fall back into the old habits of bureaucracy.
