Sense and Sensibility : Opening Sequence

When Mr. Dashwood (Tom Wilkinson) dies, his wife (Gemma Jones) and daughters Elinor (Emma Thompson), Marianne (Kate Winslet), and Margaret (Myriam Francois) lose their home to his son, John (James Fleet), from another marriage. Mr. Dashwood tells John to look out for his girls, but John's wife, Fanny (Harriet Walter), is less generous. Fanny's brother, Edward (Hugh Grant), comes to visit.
