As Aksel (Anders Danielsen Lie) dies, Julie (Renate Reinsve) walks through the city to cope. She then miscarries. In the epilogue, Julie works as a photographer and sees Eivind (Herbert Nordrum) with his new partner (Ruby Dagnall) and child.
