Film Language Tag: intertextuality

The intertextual, self-reflexive quality–as when one television text refers to another or to other types of media texts. At Kinolab, this tag is not specific to television but is instead used to signal moments when films or television series self-reflexively refer to other media texts. Butler, Jeremy. "Television: Visual Storytelling and Screen Culture," 5th edition. Routledge, 2018.
