While being interviewed by art critic Finley Stephens (Rebecca Spence), Anthony (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) eggs her into summoning the Candyman. As he investigates her whereabouts after she leaves for the bathroom, Anthony sees a reflection of the Candyman in the mirror. However, he notices odd parallels between him and the Candyman. It seems as though they are linked and the Candyman is his counterpart. The clip ends as Anthony, now amalgamated into the character of the Candyman, brutally kills Stephens as shown through the windows of his apartment building.
As soldiers stand on the beach a plane is heard. It drops bombs, the soldiers hit the ground, and we see the bombs falling toward Tommy (Fionn Whitehead). He is spared and stands back up with the rest of the soldiers as they realize they are fully exposed with no air force to defend them.
Jessica (Jennifer Ehle) and Maya (Jessica Chastain) text back and forth. Jessica goes to meet a supposed double agent for Al-Qaeda but instead, the agent is a triple agent and sets off a suicide vest, killing 7 CIA operatives. Maya finds out about her friend's death and Thomas (Jeremy Strong) informs her of Abu Ahmed's death.
At the Papal Conclave, the cardinals gather and begin the Papal selection process. Slowly, we are shown various cardinals struggling with their decisions; some are peeking at their neighbors' votes, while others begin fidgeting uncontrollably. Eventually, the restless cardinals begin clicking their pens in anticipation, suggesting that they are eager to proceed. However, various cardinals begin chanting "Lord, not me" and demonstrate the anxiety associated with the papacy.
Adelaide (Lupita Nyong'o) and Jason Wilson (Evan Alex) are in a room with their clones. Adelaide’s clone forces Jason Wilson and his clone to play while the clone gives her life story. Simultaneously Umbrae (Shahadi Wright) and Gabe Wilson (Winston Duke) fight their respective clones, finding crafty ways to outmatch their opponents. Eventually the family finds each other and leaves, surviving the encounter.
