Film Language Tag: closing sequence
The plot will typically resolve its casual issues by bringing the development to its high point, or climax. In the climax, the action is presented as having a narrow range of possible outcomes. [...] A few narratives, however, are deliberately anticlimactic. After creating expectations about how the cause-and-effect chain will be resolved, the film scotches them by refusing to settle things definitely.
